REVIEW: Topps' Mars Attacks Trading Cards

Produced by Topps | Released July 2012

To mark the 50th anniversary of their original release, Topps has reissued the classic Mars Attacks trading cards. Controversial at the time for their depiction of wanton violence and gory deaths, the cards are now available for a new generation of collectors to enjoy. But will the over-the-top violence and kooky ray-gun toting Martians strike the same

More from The Corps!

The Corps! line from Lanard is swiftly becoming my favorite guilty pleasure. Yet at the same time, there's a certain charm to these toys that makes them fun -

NEWS: Gorilla Mouth's Yuudoku Test Pull

Here's our first look at the test pull from the upcoming Yuudoku vinyl Kaiju toy from Gorilla Mouth.
Sadly the first batch of finished figures will be arriving on US shores next week - just shy of the San Diego Comic Con. But if you're in attendance you can check-out this very cool figure's test pull (as seen above) at the Dragatomi Booth (#4935) from Friday.

NEWS: Sleepy Robot 13 Retail Store Closed Until Further Notice

We're saddened to report that the Ohio-based Sleepy Robot 13 ''bricks and mortar'' store will be closed for the foreseeable future.

Store owner Lisastarchild posted a Facebook update yesterday stating that the ''Retail store is CLOSED until further notice.'' It seems there simply weren't enough customers to support the venture and until a new strategy is devised, it will remain closed.

NEWS: Hasbro's SDCC-Exclusive Marvel Sets

I'm beginning to believe Hasbro has shares in Ebay. How else do you explain the limited number releases of such in-demand figures as the GI Joe: Renegades Storm Shadow and - now - these rather awesome Marvel Universe and Marvel Legends three packs as San Diego Comic Con-exclusives?

For fans of the 4'' figure - who happen to be attending the Con or don't mind paying the re-seller price -

NEWS: DC Collectibles Launches 3.75'' Figure Line

I've never been a fan of DC-related action figures. It's not that I don't like the characters or the DC universe, but more that I've always been put off by the fact that the 6'' figures are a little on the pricey side and that the 3.75'' figures were always so poorly articulated. But now it looks as if that could all be about to change with the announcement that DC Collectibles is to launch

NEWS: SDCC-Exclusive Kim ''Jinx'' Arashikage Gallery

The HISS Tank has just added a ton of new images of the upcoming San Diego Comic Con-exclusive Kim ''Jinx'' Arashikage figure. I have to admit that normally I'm pretty OK with not getting my hands on Con-exclusive releases but this figure looks to be the exception. Now excuse me while I go off and grumble.

NEWS: Marvel Universe's Jubilee Reviewed

It's been a pretty dry spell for fans of the Marvel Universe line - thanks mostly to Hasbro putting all their efforts into the Marvel's The Avengers movie line - but it looks as if that's all about to change as Hasbro gets back on track with its ''regular'' Marvel line-up. And if this upcoming Jubilee figure - as seen over at Come, See Toys - is anything to go by then it looks as if we

NEWS: Flight Commander Now Available

We're huge fans of Gold Dober's Micronaut-inspired toys here at That Figures but I don't think anybody was prepared for just how incredible his latest creation - the Flight Commander - looks.

Based upon 1977's Magno Force Commander, Gold Dober's Flight Commander is an ''in-scale'' (i.e. approximately 3 3/4'' tall) version of the character, complete with a Space Glider/Dash Wing-style

REVIEW: The Corps! Connor ''Bolder'' Bradic

Produced by Lanard | Released 2011

A Brief History of The Corps!

Lanard's The Corps! figures have been around almost as long as the line they're clearly emulating (that's GI Joe for the hard of thinking.) Since the mid 80s, Lanard has released a steady stream of figures, vehicles and play sets that incorporated military aesthetics, space travel, ninja commandos and more, but the most

HG Wells' War of the Worlds is a masterpiece. Seriously, if you haven't read it, go do so now, as it's one of the greatest sci-fi horror stories ever penned. It's too bad then that nobody has ever managed to translate it properly to the screen. That looks as if it could be about to change though with the release of War of the Worlds: The True Story, an independent movie that mixes ''
