NEWS: Ralph McQuarrie: 1929 - 2012

We're saddened to report the passing this weekend of concept artist and designer, Ralph McQuarrie.



Originally a technical illustrator, McQuarrie was hired in 1975 by film-maker George Lucas to provide concept illustrations for his upcoming movie, The Star Wars. McQuarrie's designs - which featured some of the series' most iconic characters (including Darth Vader, the Stormtroopers, R2-D2,
